Super League

The Project

The Rugby Super League is the most exciting and popular Rugby League Tournament in the UK. In 2004 a total of 1,439,851 supporters attended over the course of the season. So when Pollenation were approached to reimplement their old site it marked the beginning of a relationship that has seen us deliver a series of projects to make the website match the demands of the fans.

Re-implementation

Super League initially needed a re-implementation of their old site but with very tight time constraints. Pollenation delivered a site plus basic content management system, registration and a ticket ordering page within 4 days.

Ticketing

With more and more fans buying tickets online the system needed to be more customer-focused and manageable. We gave them an expanded back-end system with ticket quotas and extra information about travel and ticket placement, along with order-tracking and history.

We made it easier for the user by delivering a custom shopping basket system that was dedicated to grouping tickets by match, colour and concession.

Game Management

The Super League then asked Pollenation to implement a game management system that would allow the simple addition of teams, players, game scores, fixtures, etc. All this data is being archived into a statistical database of player/team performance, which is a huge asset for the organisation.

Robust

All Pollenation's software is built on robust, scalable open-source technology. The Super League system is now managing at least ten hits per second and much more than this at peak times.
