Last week we launched the new Super League site. It's been receiving a significant number of requests/visitors since then and, apart from a couple of realtively minor problems, it's working really well.

The application is built on Twisted, Nevow and PostgreSQL. I actually tried quite hard to avoid using a SQL database but had to admit defeat. I have nothing against PostgreSQL - it's an excellent database server - I just don't like talking to SQL databases much.

As some readers may know (unless you're all spammers :-/), I discovered Nevow many months ago and help develop and maintain it. In fact, I was sitting here preparing the 0.1 release while Donovan Preston (Nevow's creator) was sitting at PyCon, about to present "Nevow: A Web Application Construction Kit". That makes this project even more exciting for me. It's great to work on an open source project, get to use it at work and know that it's doing a good job :).
