Start 10.00am - conference officially ends at 4.00pm, with networking and drinks until 6.00pm for those that can stay.
Agenda to include Opening speech by Miles Templeman, The Director General, A high profile young director key note speech, 6 workshops on future trends and challenges for emerging leaders, panel Q&A session and closing networking session. Speakers such as Andy Stanford Clarke, Master Inventor IBM, Etta Cohen, and Judith Donavan to name but a few of the speakers.
Event format
The day will begin with an address from the Director General of the IoD, Miles Templeman, followed by a regional address by the Chairman of the Young Directors Forum. A keynote speaker who fits the criteria of an inspirational Young Director from a 21st Century business will be asked to provide our Key Note speech..
Either side of lunch there will be a series of workshops which will address tomorrow’s challenges facilitated by experts in each field. These will be highly engaging and thought provoking sessions.
Finally there will be an entrepreneurs' panel which will feature some of the UK's most exciting companies, who have achieved success whilst staying true to their principles and core beliefs.
The Conference will enable delegates to network amongst some of the sharpest minds in business, to hear from inspirational Young Business leaders and to understand and debate tomorrow’s business challenges.

The IoD Young Director network reaches into every corner of the business community, spanning the whole spectrum of business leadership, from the largest public companies to the smallest private firms. Our demographics reflect the UK’s, therefore, the vast majority of our members come from SMEs, and we have members on the boards of 92% of the FTSE 100.
More specifically, they are:
- Upwardly mobile with ambitions of acquiring strategic senior leadership positions in their current business
- Focused and highly commercial in developing their businesses regardless of function
- Most common functions are in Business Development, Sales and Marketing and General Management
- Typically educated to Degree level although increasingly members are coming from vocational backgrounds having set up business ventures as a sideline and stepped into full time in their early twenties
- High interest in MBIs, MBOs and BIMBOs yet tend to be wary of appointing advisors
- Primary advisory contact is their accountant
